Leader of the Opposition, Dr Simon Busuttil, said that the PN believes that the National Audit Report finally shows that everything the opposition has been saying is correct dealing a massive blow to the Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat's credibility, in a press conference from Parliament. Dr Busuttil said that the report clearly condemns the government repeatedly showing that corruption and scandals are their trademark.
Former Parliamentary Secretary, Michael Falzon, said that the Auditor's Report sounds as is the leader of the opposition himself is speaking, which Dr Busuttil calls "the greatest certifier that what we are saying is correct, so much so that we are being compared to an independent body."
Dr Busutti mentioned the Gaffarena and Café Premier scandals as mere examples of the countless cases of corruption and scandal that the report mentions. The way it is written, even the summary itself, is a clear indication of the fact that Joseph Muscat's moral authority and credibility have taken a blow.
The facts the Malta currently has the highest standard of living in the EU and the current extortionate prices of petrol and diesel are all reasons why the Maltese people are growing sick of this government.
Dr Busuttil ended the conference by expressing that the PN are offering a new style of politics which is honest, clean and correct.
