US Ambassador Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley has come to the end of her three-and-a-half year stint as ambassador and will be bidding farewell to Malta this week.

She described her stint in Malta as a "wonderful experience."

She presented her credentials in May 2012.

Ms Abercrombie-Winstanley  will leave Malta this week to take up a post in Washington DC.

She will be replaced by G. Kathleen Hill.
