Georgie 's deep-rooted enthusiasm for whisky, coupled with her outstanding qualifications, has provided her with the skills to introduce Mortlach to influencers and exchange knowledge with industry peers worldwide.  During Mortlach's year of rebirth, Georgie has travelled to all four corners of the globe introducing Mortlach to curious luxury consumers, whisky enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.  From launching the Mortlach House in Taipei, to holding exclusive tastings for the world's leading architects at RIBA, leading seminars on Scotch at the world's most prestigious spirits festival to an elemental tasting for Omega guests in Scotland, Georgie's commitment to Global scotch culture is admired wherever she travels. She was recently honoured with the accolade of making Management Today's '35 Women under 35' list.

Georgie's infectious appreciation for the whisky category is complemented by the depth and breadth of her technical knowledge, accrued by studying a second degree on Distillation through the Institute of Brewing and Distilling. She is able to break down Mortlach's unique 2.81 distilling process, bring the distillery and its rich 190 year heritage and history to life and create bespoke, luxurious and extremely memorable experiences wherever she ventures.

Georgie's love for whisky took root in 2007 while she was studying Geography at The University of Edinburgh.  Having sought a job in the bartending industry, she made it her mission to understand everything about the sector, from the history of individual spirits to cocktails, flavour combinations and perfect service.

This passion was further fuelled through stints in various high-end cocktail bars in Edinburgh and by entering competitions, which resulted in her being short-listed for Class Magazine UK Bartender of the Year in 2009. In her final year at Edinburgh University, Georgie wrote her dissertation on whisky, "Islay and the portrayal of an Island region" which inspired her to pursue a career in the Scotch industry. Following this, Georgie studied for a diploma in distillation with the 'Institute of Brewing and Distilling', which resulted in her winning the the Worshipful Company of Distiller's award for scoring the highest marks globally in the "Diploma in Distillation" certificate.

Before joining Diageo Georgie previously held the position of the Global Ambassador for The Scotch Whisky Society where she worked to promote the wider Single Malt Scotch Whisky category throughout the world, using her passion and personality to build education, understanding and break down historical stereotypes associated with whisky.
