Speaker Anġlu Farrugia has this morning received a courtesy visit from Dr Elena Grech, Head of the European Commission Representation in Malta.

Mr Speaker referred to the visit to the European Institutions in Brussels last September and to the visit to Malta last November by Martin Schultz, President of the European Parliament, and Donald Tusk, President of the EU Council.

The two dignitaries discussed the relations between the European Parliament and the European Commission. They also emphasised the importance of co-operation between them, particularly in view of Malta’s Presidency of the EU Council.

Mr Ray Scicluna, Clerk of the House of Representatives, was also present.
