The restoration works on the majestic bastions of Senglea are finally completed.

The work on the bastions and the Gardiola, started on the 20 August of 2015. The Government had planned the project to be concluded by the end of year.

Some €250,000 were spent on the project. During a press conference this morning, Justice Minister Owen Bonnici said that the money for this project was the result of responsible spending of EU funds. He said how the €250,000 is money 'left over' from other projects which the Ministry saw fit to be utilized for the bastions. The project was also completed on the stipulated time frame.

Dr Bonnici remarked how the residents of Senglea have been calling for the restoration of the bastions for a long time.

The next project which the Ministry is going to look into is at the ditch in Imdina.
