A Nationalist Party political billboard has turned the tables on under-pressure Konrad Mizzi, as the phrase used is a stark reminder of the words Mizzi used regularly to attack the PN.
As the PN plans its mass protest against corruption on Sunday, billboards showing Minister Mizzi with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and his chief of staff Keith Schembri set on a white background, accompanied with the words “Shame on you”, have been put up in various localities overnight.
Three years into the Labour term in office – the election was held on 9 March 2013 – this might be the first hint that the country is entering into election mode.
“Shame of you” is the phrase that Dr Mizzi used regularly to attack his political opponents, both before and after the election. Now the phrase is being used against him as the scandal surrounding the company he opened in Panama grows.
Both he and Mr Schembri have admitted to opening up a company in Panama, with the minister later saying that he would be closing it up following the negative public feedback received.
The billboard has been erected in Zebbug, Rabat, Attard, Birkirkara, Msida and Blata l-Bajda.
