Louis van Gaal confused Malta with his midfielder Juan Mata whe approached by a Maltese fan after United's win against Everton last Sunday.
The Dutchman greeted supporters outside Old Trafford after the game and was even happy to record a video message for one lucky chap.
The fan informed Van Gaal that he had come from Malta for the purposes of the video, presumably to send back to friends and family, but the United boss got a tad mixed up.
“Hello Mata,” he said enthusiastically.
“MALTA!” came the hasty reply, to which Van Gaal corrected himself, still on camera.
“I was there,” Van Gaal continued… “yes!”
