A 67-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car in Katarina Vitale Street, Santa Lucija, early this morning.

The man, of Tarxien, was hit by a 23-year-old of Santa Lucija, who was driving a Fiat Punto.

The man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he was found to be in critical condition.

The police are investigating.

Magistrate Marsanne Farrugia is conducting an inquiry.
