Following a €7 million refurbishment investment during 2014, the Seashells Resort at Suncrest in Qawra hosted a pre-dinner reception for its present guests in order to mark its first year in operation. The theme was a Maltese one with local delicacies such as qassatat, ħobż biż-żejt, mqaret, ħelwa tat-tork served to all who attended.  The atmosphere was quite festive with a guitar duo providing traditional music while guest mingled with the hotel's managment team and sampled the food and local wines and liquors.

It has been a successful year for this recently refurbished hotel which since years stayed open also during the winter months and the figures speaks for themselves. "We have had bookings from over twenty five different countries, including the local market which confirms that tourism is on the rise." said Mr Joseph Vella, general manager for the hotel. "I can also confirm that in this industry there is never a dull moment. Last September one of our guests even gave birth to a baby girl in the hotel reception!"
