'Falcon Tower', part of Montekristo Estates, being demolished on instruction by Planning Authority

Thursday, 28 April 2016, 16:29 Last update: about 9 years ago

The 'Falcon Tower', built as a replica of the de Redin tower from the 1600s is being demolished. This tower is part of Charles Polidano's infamous Montekristo Estate in Safi. This demolition is being on instruction by the Planning Authority during negotiations to settle a large number of illegalities on this estate.

The estate is home to the illegal zoo which has been the cause of national controversy with two attacks on toddlers by large cats. It has also been the centre of public outcry in terms of construction taking place after the government has, time and time again, demanded its closing.
