GWU and BOV sign a new collective agreement for better conditions of support staff

The General Workers' Union, through the Professionals, Finance and Services Section, have signed a new collective agreement in the support staff section of the Bank of Valletta. This collective agreement, focusing on improving salaries and general work conditions, is for five years and will be retroactive from January 2014.

The Secretary General for the Section, Charles Galea, said that this agreement shows the appreciation and recognition of the BOV to the work of this group of employees. It was also signed keeping in mind other agreements previously signed by the GWU with the BOV in previous months.

The collective agreement was signed by Mr Charles Grech in the name of the support staff section and by Emmanuel Galea from the Group Committee. The Official Chief Executive, Mario Mallia, the Head of Human Resources, Ray Debattista and the Official of Human Resources, Lawrence Schembri signed the agreement in BOV's name.
