A man from Luqa and a woman from Floriana, who was a passenger in the man's Qashqai, were hurt this evening when the car hit a tree in St Anne's Street in Floriana.

The accident took place at 6.40pm. 

The two were taken to hospital, the woman suffering from a grievous injury. The condition of the man is not known yet.
