Ira Losco this morning publicly announced what many all over Malta already knew – that she is pregnant.

Writing on Facebook, Malta’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest said that she is celebrating her first Mother’s Day as a mother-to-be.

This is what she wrote:

Dear Everyone. My second rehearsals done and dusted and comments seem to be positive. I'm so happy you've all been part of this journey with me and I'm happy to have shared many important moments in my life with you all. I'm ecstatic that my boyfriend Sean ,family and friends are here to support me all the way. To add to all the excitement I'm also celebrating my First Mother's Day as a mother-to-be. Sean Gravina and I are very very happy to finally share this news with you all which some of you might have guessed already . We never thought we would have been so blessed with such beautiful news accompanying this Eurovision experience which has given me so much strength both as an artist and as a private person . I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the mothers of the world a happy Mother's Day, Kudos to all of you! MOST of all to my mother who has been my rock through it all!!

Ira will be taking part in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Tuesday.

Speculation on her state was rife across the whole of Malta. Everybody knew she was pregnant, but nobody in her clan was prepared to admit it. Apparently, with Mother's Day happening on the eve of the contest, her team thought that the public announcement should be made on this day.
