Watch: Light aircraft ditched in Xlendi Bay recovered from the sea

The light aircraft which crashed into the sea in Xlendi on Tuesday has been recovered, as can be seen in these photos.

Two people were rescued when the aircraft crashed into the sea at about 6.30pm. An AFM helicopter was quickly on the scene to coordinate the rescue. 

The police confirmed that the light aircraft crashed after an engine failure and was forced to make an emergency landing at sea.

The two persons on board, a 55-year-old and a 61-year-old man were not injured.
