Prime Minister discusses cooperation with Mongolia; agreements signed for flights between countries

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat met the new Mongolian Prime Minister Jargatulga Erdenebat at the beginning of his scheduled events during the Summit between European and Asian countries. The summit is known as ASEM.

Dr Muscat spoke about the role of Malta in Europe and how Malta will be taking the Presidency of the European Council in the coming January where he wishes to see the strengthening of cooperation and dialogue between Europe and Asia.

A number of sectors of cooperation between Malta and Mongolia were also discussed. These include the aviation sector, even by means of flights between the two countries, in education and in the maritime sector.

 

The two countries' Foreign Affairs Ministers, Dr George Vella and Lundeg Purevsuran signed two agreements; one regarding flights between the countries and another about visas and passports.
