Malta’s laws are not being adhered to

The debate about the MAP pill has reached a critical stage with the Prime Minister saying that because we are in the EU we must follow the dictates of their reasoning about this abortifacient pill.

I have followed our entrance into the EU and remember that a very special clause was included to protect the embryo when we first joined this bloc. It said that we would protect the embryo from conception as it is enshrined in our Constitution. Have we forgotten our principles on this matter? How can Joseph Muscat say that we have to do what the EU says concerning this matter? Does he not know on what conditions we joined the EU? If we are a serious country which respects our laws on life then he has no right to make a flippant remark like he did recently.

I have followed with great interest the articles by Klaus Vella Bardon, Ivan Padovani, Fr Robert Soler, Rev. Professor Emmanuel Agius and best of all Pierre Fava, on this subject and understand from their excellent research that the MAP pill is an abortifacient drug that inhibits the implantation of the embryo. It is just an early abortion. Having the pill available over the counter means that a 12- year old girl who goes to Paceville and has casual sex can buy this pill. Have we not thought of what harm this drug can do to our young people? If they start dealing with sex like this and cause such traumas to their bodies, then where is the next generation of Maltese babies going to come from? Europe is dying on its feet and not producing enough babies to maintain the population. Malta is already no better with its 1.7 ratio of children born or thereabouts. No wonder the Muslims are going to overrun Europe and Malta included at this rate! We must call a halt in the debate at this point and ask ourselves what we really want.

Children are a blessing in a family and bring joy. Have you ever seen the way people look at a new born baby of a friend of theirs being wheeled around by its proud parents?  The look of wonder and happiness shines from their eyes as they see the marvel of nature displayed before their eyes. We were meant to reproduce ourselves and keep the population going not destroy what nature intended! Had we better not think again of what we are doing to the next generation of our precious young people? What will they think of us as they see the population dwindle? Do you think they will be grateful to us for not protecting our laws? And how can a prime minister go against the laws of his own country on such an important matter?

The MAP is a big money spinner and, as the British phrase, goes “money talks”. Money is the root of all evil and in this case it really is. What nation goes against itself and its laws on such a delicate matter?

I ask all people with a conscience to take a stand against this drug and speak up in the name of future Maltese generations so that Malta will lead the way in the EU and guide Europe back to being a healthy group of countries. The tide is turning in many countries abroad already as people realise the harm abortion does to a nation. People are speaking up and defending life again, having seen the horrors of abortion that have decimated their peoples. May the Maltese nation, small as it is, be a voice of hope not despair in this matter for the happiness of future families.
