Temperatures are set to climb steadily by one degree per day to reach 35 degrees Celsius on Sunday, the Met Office is forecasting.

According to the website of the Malta International Airport, the temperature will be 30 degrees on Tuesday, 31 on Wednesday, 32 on Thursday, 33 on Friday, 34 on Saturday and 35 on Sunday.

The “feels like” temperature will be higher, starting off at 35 degrees on Tuesday and climbing to 39 on Sunday.

There will be some cloud cover on Tuesday, but the rest of the week is expected to be sunny all the way.

In such hot temperatures, people should stay away from being in the sun for long periods, especially between 11am and 3pm, and drink lots of water.
