PBS guilty of hiding Alfred Sant’s comments on Konrad Mizzi from viewers - PN

The Broadcasting Authority has found that the PBS newsroom should have aired a comment on No Portfolio Minister Konrad Mizzi made by former Prime Minister Alfred Sant, who had said that if he were in Minister Konrad Mizzi's shoes he would have resigned, a PN statement read.

Konrad Mizzi was found to have a company in the secretive jurisdiction of Panama.

"The Broadcasting Authority said that PBS failed when it did not produce Alfred Sant's comments. It also said that PBS' defence stating that Dr Sant said this on Facebook and not in an official statement, was not a valid reason not to produce it given that PBS has not stuck to this practice in the past".

"It is clear that the Broadcasting Authority did not believe the PBS arguments in this regard. This is a clear case of how the agenda of PBS is decided upon by Castille in cases like this".

The PN also said that the BA rejected the PN's protest regarding PBS coverage of the Toni Bezzina situation, and also rejected the PN's protest regarding the government propaganda spots with the theme Gvern li Jisma'.
