Ray Azzopardi resigned after he was taken to court over serious charges. Deputy Leader of the Labour Party Chris Cardona previously told this newsroom that the Labour Party cannot afford to have a Local Councillor with such serious charges levelled against him. As such, Mr Azzopardi resigned from his post.
