Amidst all the complaints about cranes towering over every inch of the Maltese skyline, one of them will be offering a once in a lifetime culinary experience from yesterday evening all throughout summer. Dinner in the Sky is an international phenomenon which was started in Belgium in May 2006 and is now operating in just over 50 countries, with Malta being their latest addition.

22 guests at a time shall be hoisted around 40 metres above Valletta, with the base being the Herbert Ganado Gardens. Renowned restaurateur Marvin Gauci has been entrusted with creating three culinary experiences sure to cater to a wide audience. The height depends on the occasion with the maiden voyage being at 35 - 40 metres so the diners can fully enjoy the Vittoriosa fireworks.

The three evening options are the 'Sunset Dinner in the Sky', dubbed the most romantic; the 'Harbour Lights Dinner in the Sky', promising breathtaking views of the lit up three cities and Grand Harbour; and the 'Champagne In The Sky' option every Friday.
