Salvu Mallia’s popular television show “Madwarna” has been axed by PBS, the presenter said.

“Madwarna” is a programme which deals with Maltese way of life, culture and society, presented in a very friendly, inimitable way by Salvu Mallia.

Mallia has been recently linked with joining Marlene Farrugia’s new Democratic Party.

He has also been critical of the government, giving a quote which has become famous since the Panama Papers scandal in which the Prime Minister’s chief of staff Keith Schembri and Minister Konrad Mizzi were named: “Jekk il-gandlieri mhumiex tal-fidda, allura s-salib ta’ bejniethom hu falz ukoll”.

Writing on Facebook, an irritated Mallia said that the show has been killed off “along with freedom of expression.”

He went on to say that he regrets the moment he voted for this “fascist government”.
