Take-home pay and jobs guaranteed by government in meeting between Air Malta, GWU, Tourism Ministry

A meeting was held today between the Tourism Ministry, Air Malta management and the General Workers’ Union where the future of the national airline workers was discussed.

The GWU put forward a number of proposals that were gathered by GWU members who also work with Air Malta. The Government guaranteed employment and take home pay, according to a joint press release issued by the government and the GWU this evening.

All sides agreed to meet in the near future in order to discuss the GWU proposals. 

Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis thanks Mr Josef Bugeja, the GWU Secretary General for his cooperation and sense of responsibility. He also thanked President Emeritus George Abela, Air Malta Chairperson Maria Micallef and all those who attended the meeting and gave a contribution.
