Norman Vella to have programme on Radio 101 in time-slot previously occupied by David Thake

Friday, 2 September 2016, 14:57 Last update: about 9 years ago

Norman Vella will be hosting a programme on Radio 101 as from Monday, taking up the time-slot previously occupied by David Thake who can no longer present shows on Nationalist Party media since he is an election candidate.

The programme will be called ‘Mhux Ghax Jimpurtani’, the same name as his television programme, and will air between 5pm and 6pm from Monday to Friday, Vella told The Malta Independent.

The difference between the two, he said, is that while the TV programme is more discussion based, the radio programme will be focussed on news and political analysis.

David Thake had stopped broadcasting on Radio 101 as the PN leadership ruled that all candidates should stop presenting programmes on the party media as of the end of September. Thake is now in the process of launching his own digital radio station.

Asked whether this meant he would not be planning on running for the General Elections, Norman Vella said he was never a candidate, and that he will not be contesting. He was, however, a candidate in the last MEP elections.

Mr Vella said that the TV schedule for NETTV has not yet been drawn up, but he believes his programme will still be on air.
