A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in an accident that took place on Hal Far Road, Hal Far this afternoon.

The man got hit by a number of bricks that fell off from a truck. This was the second accident in less than 24 hours on the same road.

Police, paramedics and the civil protection were seen on site to help the motorcyclist.

In another incident, a 59-year-old German man was seriously injured in a crash in Swieqi.

The police said the accident took place at around 12.10pm in St Andrew’s Road.

The German man was driving a BMW motorcycle, which had an impact with a Peugeot car that was being driven by a 20-year-old man from Gharghur. Both vehicles were being driven in the direction of St Julian’s.  

The Maltese man was uninjured. The German suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
