The Minister for Competitiveness and Digital, Maritime and Services Economy Emmanuel Mallia yesterday addressed a well-attended first Gaming Malta networking event.
Minister Mallia praised the ‘‘sheer level of professionalism’’ gaming companies in Malta portray, and has played a big part in the country’s growth and success in this industry. He added that we face competition across the globe so it is important that industry players, such as The Malta Gaming Authority ‘keep up the hard work’.
Dr Mallia said that the government is updating gaming laws not only to bring them in line with developments in technology but to future proof them and resist inertia in the gaming sector. After all, the minister stressed, innovation is essential to sustainability.
