The vice-president of the Malta Football Association Chris Bonett has resigned his post and will be joining UEFA, sources told The Malta Independent.

This is the second resignation of a top official from the MFA. Last Monday, secretary general Bjorn Vassallo resigned to take up a post with FIFA.

Mr Bonett had initially refused the job opportunity he was given at UEFA, but had a change of heart.
