Elmo Insurance Ltd holds an educational talk on cancer awareness

Elmo Insurance employees attended an educational talk presented by Dr Stephanie Kotes, Urologist, currently promoting the campaign relating to testicular cancer awareness called, 'Love Thy Balls'.

Every year approximately 1,000 new male cancer cases are diagnosed while annual deaths from male cancer amount to approximately 500.  Focus is being given to testicular cancer which is the most common cancer amongst males aged between 15 and 40. This is 99% treatable if detected early.

Upon presenting a donation towards the campaign 'Love Thy Balls' and RIDT (The University of Malta Research Innovation and Development Trust), Anthony Cauchi, General Manager, said "We believe that as a company we have a responsibility towards the community and this is why we are joining the local effort to raise awareness about male cancer in Malta."
