Foreign Affairs Minister George Vella has been discharged from hospital after undergoing an eye cataract operation, the government said this morning.

The procedure, on his left eye, was performed at Mater Dei Hospital by eye surgeon and MP Franco Mercieca.

Mr Vella was discharged after the procedure and will continue with his usual work routine.
