16 finalists for Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2017 announced

Sixteen songs have been shortlisted as finalists for next year's Malta Eurovision Song Contest taking place in February.

An 11-person expert panel assessed 60 songs and came up with the list of 16 finalists. Yesterday evening, TVM announced the finalists as part of the evening news bulletin.

The songs are:

Claudia Faniello Breathlessly

Shauna Vassallo Crazy Games

Miriana Conte Don’t Look Down

Rhiannon Micallef Fearless

Sherton Caruana Fighting to survive

Kevin Borg Follow

Franklin Calleja Follow Me

Janice Mangion Kewba

Klinsmann Coleiro Laserlight

Raquela Dalli Gonzi Ray of Light

Jade Vella Seconds Away

Crosswalk So Simple

Deborah C and Josef Tabone Tonight

Brooke Borg Unstoppable

Richard Edwards You

The final will be held on 18 February 2017.

The winner will represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest in the Ukraine in early May next year.
