A teenager this morning attacked his mother with a knife in her own home in Qawra, the police said.

The 16-year-old ran away after the attack, which took place on Church Street, St Paul’s Bay, at 8.30am.

The 51-year-old mother was taken to hospital, where she was found to be suffering from serious injuries.

The boy was later arrested.
