Sir David Brown acquired Aston Martin 70 years ago. To commemorate the birth of the British sports car maker's legendary "DB" era, The Classic Car Trust is hosting a special exhibition of the most iconic DBs at Rétromobile 2017. The headliners are the original Bond car, a specially customized Aston Martin DB5, and a rarely seen design classic, the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato. "Both the Bond car and the Zagato perfectly epitomize the understatement and excitement provided by Aston Martin DBs. While the DB5 featured in 1964's Goldfinger may be the most important brand ambassador, the rare DB4 GT Zagato embodies the iconic status of DBs especially amongst classic car collectors," explains Beat Roos, founder member of Aston Martin Heritage. "The cars on display at this special exhibition - from the DB1 to the DBS V8 - form the most exclusive line-up of DBs ever shown at an event like Rétromobile 2017." The special exhibition was initiated by The Classic Car Trust, Beat Roos and Eric Le Moine with additional support from Hagerty Insurance, Roos Engineering Ltd., Emil Frey Classics and Verkehrshaus Luzern. The Aston Martin DBs on show, which cover the period between 1948 and the early 1970s, have been provided by classic car collectors from all over Europe. "We're very excited that the community of classic car collectors has so willingly helped us make this highlight of the classic car year into a reality. Each car bears impressive testimony to the automotive heritage created by David Brown. The Classic Car Trust is honored to be able to host the exhibition that brings them all together at Rétromobile 2017," says Fritz Kaiser, classic car collector and founding chairman of The Classic Car Trust.
