Children Cinema Day

Another edition of the Children Cinema Day, organised by KRS Releasing Limited, with the collaboration of cinema exhibitors, is to be held on Saturday, 11 March, when once again children will be treated to another feast of specially selected films for the occasion at reduced admission prices. 

Fourteen films chosen to be screened on the day comprise a variety of animation action adventures, comedy, fantasy drama, bio comedy dramas and action adventure sci-fi.

Film screenings in Malta will commence at 9am and run until 7pm, whereas in Gozo shows will be at 2, 4 and 6pm.

The Lego Batman Movie - Animation  - Action - Adventure

SynopsisThe Lego Batman Movie is an animated action comedy in which Lego Batman tries to save Gotham City from being taken over by a group of super-villains led by Lego Joker.

A Monster Calls - Drama - Fantasy

Synopsis:  A Monster Calls is a fantasy drama in which a boy encounters a monster in the form of a tree which helps him through a difficult period.

Sing - Animation - Comedy - Drama

Synopsis:  Sing is an animated feature about a group of animals taking part in a singing contest.

 

Monster Trucks - Animation - Action - Adventure

Synopsis:  Monster Trucks is a fantasy adventure in which a young motoring enthusiast befriends a large subterranean creature unearthed by an oil-drilling company.

Ballerina - Animation - Adventure - Family

Synopsis:  Ballerina is an animated family film about a young girl who runs away from an orphanage in order to try to achieve her dream of becoming a dancer.

 

Rogue One:  A Star Wars Story - Action - Adventure - Sci-Fi

Synopsis:  Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a sci-fi action adventure in which a team of rebels embark upon a dangerous mission to steal the plans to a powerful weapon.

Moana - Animation - Adventure - Comedy

Synopsis:  Moana is an animated feature about a young girl who ventures out to sea on a mission to save the future of the people of the Pacific island on which she lives. The feature is preceded by a short animation called Inner Workings which is about the internal struggle between a man's pragmatic and impulsive sides.

 

Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them - Adventure - Family - Fantasy

Synopsis:  Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them is a fantasy adventure drama, set in 1920s New York, in which a wizard becomes involved in a battle against dark forces that threaten the city.

 

A Street Cat Named Bob - Bio - Comedy - Drama

Synopsis:  A Street Cat Named Bob is a drama about a busker and recovering drug addict whose life is transformed when he adopts a stray ginger cat.

 

Doctor Strange - Action - Adventure - Fantasy

Synopsis:  Doctor Strange is a superhero fantasy action film about a surgeon who turns to mystical forces after losing the use of his hands in an accident.

 

Trolls - Animation - Adventure - Comedy

Synopsis:  Trolls is an animated comedy about the Trolls, a happy-go-lucky race who spend their days singing and dancing but who are threatened by troll-eating creatures.

 

Storks - Animation - Adventure - Comedy

Synopsis:  Storks is an animated film about storks who have stopped delivering babies and now deliver mail order items.

 

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - Adventure - Drama - Family

SynopsisMiss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is an adventure fantasy, adapted from the novel by Ransom Riggs, about a home for children with special abilities.

 

Kubo and the Two Strings - Animation - Adventure - Family

Synopsis:  Kubo and the Two Strings is an animated fantasy about a gifted boy who embarks on a magical quest, accompanied by a maternal monkey and a samurai beetle.

 

Films will be screened at Eden - St Julian's; Empire - Bugibba; Embassy - Valletta; Galleria - Fgura; Citadel - Gozo and Don Bosco Oratory - Gozo.
