Roads around the London Bridge area are to reopen, after being on lockdown earlier when cops were called to a “suspicious vehicle” nearby, British media report.
Workers and commuters were seen running from office blocks and the station as cops ordered a full evacuation. The police later tweeted that the incident had been satisfactorily resolved, and the incident was reported to be a false alarm.
Earlier, the rail and bus station as well as nearby offices, Fitness First gym, London Bridge Hotel and Pret were among those evacuated. Police had warned office workers who were told to stay indoors – and away from the windows.
Police helicopters circled overhead after a bomb disposal robot was also deployed by officers.
Witnesses had described seeing a dark silver Range Rover parked with its hazard lights flashing on London Bridge Street.
