Two elderly British persons lose their lives in Nadur car crash

Two elderly British persons lost their lives last night in a car crash on Rabat Road, Nadur, Gozo.

The 68-year-old English man was driving a Suzuki Ignis, with a 73-year-old English woman on board. Both were Xaghra residents. Their car collided with a Peugeot Partner driven by a 25-year-old from Qala.

The incident occurred at 11 pm last night, and the two elderly persons were certified as having lost their lives at the Gozo General Hospital.

Civil Protection Department officials, as well as a medical team, had helped the crash victims to get out of the cars.

The 25-year-old is suffering from grievous injuries.

Magistrate J Vella Cuschieri is leading a Magisterial inquiry.
