AD Chairperson Arnold Cassola said that his party's identity and principles are "not for sale," during the AD Annual General Meeting held today.

He said that coalitions in advanced democracies allow political parties to keep their identity in tact, however in Malta there tends to be assimilation

He said that the AD is not interested in such things.

Professor Cassola spoke about the lack of consistency by those persons who speak about the environment and ODZ land, "while applying for a villa in an ODZ area."

He mentioned the lack of consistency in certain persons criticizing the ITS site deal, "yet they themselves were involved in negotiating the contract, and those who criticize the sale of citizenship and then sell it themselves."

"There is no choice between the PN and the PL."

He mentioned companies in Panama, and positions of trust. "At the same time, there are many families who cannot cope with the costs of everyday life."

"The AD will work in favour of those people struggling to cope, and in favour of good public services."

He approved the AD's policies for a zero carbon society.

"This policy was called for so that by 2050, electricity generation facilities as well as transport would use clean and renewable energy sources.

He also called for new buildings to be carbon neutral, and for all new cars going on the market to use electricity by the year 2030.
