Thomas Smith Group is sponsoring the Malta Model Boat Association Open National Championship for the fifth year running.
The event will this year be held between 29th March and 2nd April at the Mellieha Bay Hotel.
One metre long remotely-controlled sailing yachts are the most common type of radio controlled sailing among hobbyists around the world.
With the backdrop of Mellieħa Bay, several local and international skippers will be racing their remote-controlled sailboats to the finish line. The event attracted 44 participants from all over Europe, mostly from UK. Other countries include Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Italy and Sweden. Malta will be represented by 10 skippers who will race their one-metre remote-controlled yachts.
Thomas Smith Group together with the Malta Model Boat Association, and Bank of Valletta, another supporter of the event, encourage the public to attend the weekend races against the Mellieha Bay backdrop. A real treat for all motor boating aficionados!
