Monday, 17 April 2017, 15:07 Last update: about 9 years ago

At 59 years of age, Ray Busuttil has earned a rare distinction - he gave blood for the 100th time, in all donating 50 litres of blood, equal to helping and saving 300 patients over the past 31 years. Known for its elaborate cakes and other delicacies, Michael's Restaurant provided a cake to mark this special occasion as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

"Donating blood is a real easy way for me to give back to the community," said Ray

"I would like to challenge anybody, especially the young people out there, to beat my 100th donation. Donate as often as you can. It is needed," continued Ray.

The National Blood Transfusion Service continuously strives to ensure an adequate supply of blood for all the hospitals of our islands.
