Minister for the Family and Social Solidarity Michael Farrugia has launched the 'Online Benefit Calculators', which will cover children's allowance, in-work, unemployment and sick benefits .

The online platform, which is mobile phone and hand-held device friendly, will also provide users with a schedule of benefit payment dates.

The application will allow users to discover the exact amount of social benefits they are entitled to by inputting basic information into the system.

The Minister also revealed that retirement pension will be included next June since it was more complex and needed more time to implement.

The service will be available 24/7.

"The service will reduce administration work in the department of social security and will free up human resources to be more efficient in other areas," the minister said.
