Deputy Prime Minister Louis Grech, addressing the PL AGM yesterday, said that government remains relevant and credible when it implements what it promises.

"We look to the future, to strengthen the fight against bureaucracy, to review the minimum wage. A PL government will remain a catalyst for change."

He was addressing the PL AGM last night, while embattled Prime Minister Joseph Muscat faced PN Leader Simon Busuttil in a Xarabank debate last night, over allegations that the Prime Minister's wife is involved with the third Panama company, Egrant Inc.

The Deputy Prime Minister, who is also the PL Deputy Leader, said that government should be judged on the difference it brought to peoples lives. "We want to build a society based on compassion and less prejudice."

On, election day, he said, people should ask themselves whether the economy is better off than it was four years ago, if there is less unemployment, if people are paying less taxes, and if the government kept its promises.

"Good did not come from nothing," he said, while adding that this came from the economic growth created.

"The opposition is trying to intimidate the government, trying to create fear."

"The PL has a strong memory, always turning up closer and stronger after attacks of this sort. The strongest responst to our political adversaries is through unity."

 PL CEO Gino Cauchi said that last Wednesday, the amendments to the statute, the party officially registered with the Electoral Commission.
