A Polish man was found dead in the sea at Blue Lagoon this afternoon, the police said.

The police did not say whether the man was swimming or whether he had fallen overboard after feeling unwell.

The 61-year-old was lifted out of the water by a group of people who were on site.

A medical team certified his death.

The police and AFM were on site to give their assistance.

Magistrate Paul Coppini is conducting an inquiry.
