On Thursday 28 April the students and members of staff of San Andrea Early and Middle School dressed up as characters from one of the books of author Roald Dahl to celebrate World Book Day.

The students were in for a treat when they were met with a number of people representing characters by the prolific writer, including a stilt walker representing the BFG (Big Friendly Giant), an giant orange beach ball representing James and the Giant Peach, a crocodile (from the Enormous Crocodile) manned by teachers from the school and a bubble machine representing Whizz Pop from BFG and also from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

After a short parade, the children sat down for 15 minutes silent-reading from books that they had brought from home.
