Official results on the Electoral Commission website show that the Labour Party won the election with a margin of 35,280 votes over the Nationalist Party.

It is a victory which is slightly larger than that obtained four years ago, when the win was obtained with a 35,107 margin.

In all, Labour obtained 170,976 preferences (55.06 per cent) as against the PN’s 135,696 (43.68 per cent).

Alternattiva Demokratika obtained 2,564 votes (0.83 per cent), Moviment Patrijotti Maltin 1,117 (0.36 per cent) Alleanza Bidla got 221 (0.07 per cent) while independent candidates obtained 91 votes (0.03 per cent).
