BOV rewards excellence in education through the Dean’s List

Friday, 16 June 2017, 12:13 Last update: about 8 years ago

The Faculty of Arts at the University of Malta awarded membership of the Dean's List to eight of its students. As in previous years Bank of Valletta renewed its support to the activity. Students were addressed by the Dean Professor Dominic Fenech, while Joyce Tabone from the bank's PR and Marketing Department represented Bank of Valletta.

Professor Fenech explained how the demanding criteria meant that only truly outstanding students could make it into the list. He added that since the award was not a competitive one, but depended on objective criteria, the relatively large number of students being awarded this year meant that the quality of both the students and their learning experience was getting better.

Congratulating the students, Ms Tabone, herself a graduate of the Faculty of Arts, said: "It is indeed an honour on this occasion to represent Bank of Valletta, an institution that actively believes in the importance of investing in education and promotes continuous learning among its people." She urged students to take pride in this recognition that shows their commitment, not only to their studies, but also to the manner in which they face challenges in life.

The students themselves expressed their appreciation towards the support and patience of their tutors who always went "above and beyond the call of duty". Some added that on a personal level this achievement represents a boost of confidence.

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Bank of Valletta congratulate the students who received a mention on the Dean's List:
