Top representatives from Marriott International were in Malta recently to attend the prestigious Marriott President's Circle Award Ceremony. The awards recognise the top five per cent of last year's achievers for sales, events and revenue management among more than 500 hotels across 30 brands in Europe.
Marriott International president and managing director of Europe Amy McPherson and Marriott International chief operations officer for luxury and southern Europe Satya Anand, were among the senior leadership team from Marriott who attended the ceremony held at The Westin Dragonara Resort.
The Westin Dragonara Resort and Le Méridien St Julian's Hotel & Spa both form part of Marriott International, Inc.
Expressing his gratitude, Westin Dragonara Resort general manager Michael Camilleri Kamsky said: "We are very honoured to have been chosen to host this prestigious event, which was also the first incentive trip since Marriott International acquired Starwood Hotels and Resorts."
It was also a particularly important moment for Le Méridien St Julian's Hotel & Spa, which will be rebranded as the first Marriott Hotel in Malta.
"We are extremely excited about the rebranding. The five-star hotel will reopen as the Malta Marriott Hotel and Spa and form part of Marriott International, the largest hotel group worldwide," said Le Méridien general manager Alex Incorvaja said.
During the award ceremony, Le Méridien's corporate sales manager Mariella Bondin was recognised for her outstanding performance in 2016.
Mr Incorvaja and Mr Kamsky took the opportunity to show Ms McPherson and Mr Anand some of Malta's leading tourist attractions during their three-day visit as well as introducing them to management and associates, together with the hotels' owners.
