The Isle of MTV event is expected to be hosting approximately 50,000 people tomorrow, and will be viewed in over 20 countries, according to Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi.
Mizzi was addressing the press on the stage constructed for the 11th Isle of MTV concert tomorrow, which is being held at the granaries Floriana.
"Over the past few years, repositioning of tourists has shown that 20% of tourists are under the age of 24," Mizzi said, going on to say that events like Isle of MTV help to make Malta a "fun destination".
He said that such a show is the repositioning Malta is required in order make sure that Malta is attractive as a destination.
Throughout the conference, the enormity of the virtual audience reached via Isle of MTV's social media use was praised several times.
Russell Samuel, the organizer of the event said that via the use of social media and by bringing in the stars, the event brought along with it over 40 million followers, and added that last night's event alone reached six million people. He said that live streaming via Facebook and Snapchat helped to gain that reach.

The Chainsmokers, DNCE, DJ Jonas Blue and Raye will be performing on the stage tomorrow, which Mizzi described as a "truly amazing" line-up.
170 police officers will be deployed tomorrow night at the event, along with 300 security guards, said the Tourism Minister. He added that The Malta Tourism Authority donated €20,000 to the Floriana Local Council.
Chairman of Malta Tourism Authority Gavin Gulia said that events such as Isle of MTV hellp bring the number of tourists that we are currently bringing to Malta.
