A woman became the third road victim of the day after she died in a traffic accident in Bahrija this afternoon, the police said.

The accident happened in Bieb ir-Ruwa Street at 1.30pm.

The police said a Toyota Corsa being driven by a 56-year-old woman of Rabat was involved in a crash with a Land Rover, which at the time was parked.

A passenger in the Toyota, a 78-year-old woman also of Rabat, was killed on the spot.

Magistrate Aaron Bugeja is conducting an inquiry.

Earlier today a man was killed at Selmun following a crash between an ambulance and a car and an elderly pedestrian was killed in Marsa after he was hit by a car.
