Police officers had to intervene this morning to release a woman from a garbage truck in Paceville.

The woman, believed to be Italian, was seen running naked in the streets before entering the garbage truck cabin.

A video uploaded on One website shows her later at the back of the truck, amid all the waste that had been picked up, as police officers tried to help with the assistance of other individuals.

She was later taken to hospital for treatment.

In reaction to the video, the Office of the Commissioner for Mental Health urged respect towards the person in whatever case and circumstances.

The office, led by John M. Cachia, said that it is not informed of the details, and is only commenting on what has been seen in the media.

It is clear that the helpers assisted the person involved with dignity, as is to be expected in such delicate cases.

It appealed to the public to view these situations not as cheap entertainment, but to understand the circumstances that could have led to the incident.
