Nationalist Party needs to base political agenda on the people – Adrian Delia

Thursday, 17 August 2017, 14:58 Last update: about 8 years ago

PN Leadership contender Adrian Delia said that the PN should base its political agenda on the people after speaking with people from different backgrounds. In a message he gave to the PN committee members and paid party members, Delia said that the PN needs a process of open dialogue.

"A political party is made up of people and has to work only for them. We need to gain the public's trust by sending a clear message, and not by dictating to them on how they think."

Delia said he was the first among the leadership contenders to propose AZAD to become the centre for political discussion. He pledged that if elected, he will commission a sociological and scientific study to portray a clear picture of society.

"It is through this study that we can debate with those who have the party and country close to heart."

He said the PN is still a big party with more than 135,000 followers and many more who are willing to vote for it if they see a new way of doing politics. Delia claims to have received "hundreds of messages" supporting his proposals on the court and justice services.

"We need to keep fighting corruption and defend democracy and freedom of expression," he concluded.
