A man was arrested late yesterday afternoon after being caught in possession of drugs by officers of the Drug Squad assisted by policemen from the St Julian’s station.

The 22-year-old from San Gwann was found to have in possession of about 250 grams of suspected cannabis substance and a smaller amount of suspected cocaine. Electronic scales, several plastic bags and other things showed aggravated possession and trafficking of illegal substances.

The police did not disclose the location of the arrest.

He was also found to have the sum of 600 euros in cash in his possession. Police investigations are ongoing and the young man is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
