The launch was held at the MCAST Students’ House in the presence of Stephen Vella, General Manager MCAST Gateway to Industry, Stephen Cachia, Principal and CEO, and Dr Silvio De Bono, President of the Board of Governors.

The College offers a broad array of high-quality part-time courses ranging from hobby courses up to fully accredited courses including Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programme.

Following the successful launch of the part-time Master’s degree programme last year, MCAST is launching another two programmes at MQF Level 7 - the PGCert Research Methods and the Masters by Research. Both new programmes are being launched in collaboration with the MCAST University College.

Amongst the 38 new courses one finds the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Financial Services Management, the Diploma in Insurance (Dip CII), Introduction to Emergent Circuit Approach in the Early Years, Our Natural Heritage, Acting, MCAST Award in Games Development, Raspberry Pi, Fitness Training, Scientific Investigation, Dealing with Challenging Behavior and the MCAST Award in Children’s Care, Learning and Development amongst others.

Adults and young learners over the age of 16 may apply for these courses to acquire new skills and qualifications and progress in their careers. The part-time courses are particularly aimed at adults whose work or family commitments make it difficult for them to follow full-time education, but who would still like to acquire skills and qualifications to secure new jobs, seek career advancement or simply to learn more about subjects that interest them.

The College strives to provide vocational education and training that addresses current and future industry needs, be it in the engineering field, business management and commerce, arts, community services, information technology or applied sciences. Each and every training programme is designed on the feedback received from students, academics and members of the industry. This is done by keeping continuous communication with the local industry, reviewing and updating the training courses accordingly to provide quality education to students.

Bespoke courses for industry are also created according to current trends and needs. All tutors are qualified experts in their field and resources and facilities are provided to complement the courses.

Further details about each course are available on the website: shortcourses.mcast.edu.mt, where one can also book a course by applying online.
